Note I must connec the USB to Ethernet adapter to a USB 2. I see it in my system report, ive deleted it and added it to network settings, ive renewed the DHCP, disabled/enabled SIP and installed a RealTek driver even though everything said i didnt need to, you name ive tried it! Ive been messing with this for 3 weeks now and ive gotten no where! Right-click on your external USB WI-Fi adapter and Update driver. ![]() like HELLO!?!?! theres no need to use ethernet if wifi is on, so WTF? I want ethernet! Reply Helpful (2) of 1 Q: USB-C to Ethernet adapters are not recognized Welcome to Apple Support Community A forum where Apple customers help each other with their products. so i gave in and bought the belkin usb-c to gigabit ethernet adapter, and it does the same crap! connects for a hot minute, maybe longer, but the second i disable the wifi and go to use the web browser it disconnects and wont reconnect without wifi being turned back on. Go to System Preferences -> Network and click the 'Plus' Sign than check if theres the Adapter is shown and add it. Ethernet adapter not working with big sur update, tried the many solutions, but nothing works. If you bought a cheap USB 2.0 to Ethernet adapter for your MacBook Air or MacBook Pro 13 inch 2015, then you know the simple plug and play does not work. so i bought a Uni usb-c to gigabit ethernet which had plenty of reviews saying it was plug and play on the MBP2019, but it didnt work. As described by the users, the USB ethernet adapter stopped working after the macOS Big Sur update on both old and new Apple devices. ![]() bought a hyper drive port, everything worked but the ethernet port.
